Rochester’s Greatest Fat Tuesday Party Ever started as a party to break up the winter doldrums and raise money to support the March of Dimes. March for Babies is the March of Dimes biggest fundraiser both locally and nationally. To generate momentum for this event, the revenue committee for the March of Dimes, March for Babies created the Fat Tuesday Party thirteen years ago. Successful even in year one, the event is now bigger and better than we ever dreamed it could be.

To make this Rochester’s Greatest Winter party, the best local bands are recruited each year to play at this Mardi Gras style event. This year the event will be held at the historic German House located in Rochesterís South Wedge. The auditorium is decorated for Mardi Gras and beads are on sale for attendees.

Since its origin thirteen years ago, some 10,000 attendees have helped to raise over $280,000 to save babies! The first of these parties set early expectations by raising $7,000 and drawing over 500 people. Each year, our committee grows while we gain more corporate support. This year we expect to draw a crowd of 1,000 people and raise $35,000!

Tickets are available for $10 at the Summit FCU's Greece location, through a Fat Tuesday Planning Committee Member or the March of Dimes office at Winton Place. $15 tickets can also be purchased in advanced at any area Wegmans.
